of sauerkraut
caraway seeds

bay leaves

onion

sweet paprika

heavy cream (or half & half)

flour or arrowroot starch

Instructions
Cook water, bouillons, diced potatoes, bay leaves, sauerkraut (no juice), and caraway seeds until the potatoes are semi-soft. In a pan, sauté finely chopped onion and cut up sausage.
Add the mixture to the soup and season with sweet paprika.
Pour a bit of cold water into a cup, add flour or starch, whisk thoroughly, and add to the soup together with the heavy cream (or half & half).
Cook for a few minutes. Salt to taste.
