Ingredients
- 3 l water
- 4 large potatoes
- 2 cubes of bouillon
- 1 bag of sauerkraut
- caraway seeds
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 sausage
- 1 onion
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
- 200 ml heavy cream (or half & half)
- 1 tablespoon flour or arrowroot starch
- salt

Instructions
- Cook water, bouillons, diced potatoes, bay leaves, sauerkraut (no juice), and caraway seeds until the potatoes are semi-soft. In a pan, sauté finely chopped onion and cut up sausage.
- Add the mixture to the soup and season with sweet paprika.
- Pour a bit of cold water into a cup, add flour or starch, whisk thoroughly, and add to the soup together with the heavy cream (or half & half).
- Cook for a few minutes. Salt to taste.
