GOULASH WITH MUSHROOMS AND VEGETABLES

500 g beef for stew
4 large onions
lard or oil
300 g fresh mushrooms
2 carrots (celery or parsley root if desired)
2 celery stalks
seasoning – salt, pepper, sweet red paprika, marjoram, caraway seed
3 cloves of garlic

Heat lard in large pot, brown onions. Add cubed meat, season and simmer for a while. add bit of warm water and cook until meat is done. Add chopped vegetables, mushrooms, pressed garlic and cook. I did not thicken this sauce but if needed, thicken by adding some flour mixed with water.
